Tea for Two

Ah, tea on the veranda, how civilised.

There’s a lot of tea drinking in India. I know this probably comes as no great surprise.

The tea of the masses is of course “Chai” usually served in some sort of disposable earthenware cup that imparts a slightly strange taste to the drink and draws all the moisture out of your lips. Being unglazed your lips also tend to stick to it. Nice.

Splashing out on a pot for maybe 60 rupees (big spender hey?) gets you some sort of throwback to the Raj days as you can see.

How terribly proper.
